Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said Bangladesh has set an example to the world in digital financial services. This service has gained the confidence of the people of Bangladesh. The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that starting from meetings, seminars, symposiums, the Internet is now the vehicle of our daily life including our education, business and government management. Internet connectivity has more than doubled since last January. Last January, 1,000 Gbps internet bandwidth was used, but now it has increased to 2100 Gbps. The Minister noted that with the development of digital infrastructure in the last eleven years under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, people in remote areas of the country are getting the opportunity to live a digital life. Has been raised to tens of millions. Noting that internet facilities have been extended to remote villages of the country, the minister said high-speed broadband connectivity has already reached 3,800 unions in the country. Work has started to provide broadband internet in the remaining 638 unions including remote chars, haors and islands. Noting that there will be no crisis of broadband network by 2021, the minister said, "We launched Forge in 2016 but due to various reasons, mobile operators have not been able to launch Forge in remote areas yet." We have instructed those involved in the expansion of Four G in remote parts of the country. We are also preparing for 5G. The Minister of Telecommunications said, "We have entered the fourth industrial revolution. The current situation will change even more." If AI, robotics, IoT or blockchain are added to the daily financial services, the challenge will increase. In that case security is important. The minister mentioned that the government is working towards this goal. The Minister also emphasized on the caution of the service provider and the recipient in this regard.
