Identity card activities to give status to freelancers within a month

State Minister for Information Technology Junaid Ahmed has directed to implement the process of issuing identity cards to freelancers within a month to ensure their financial and social status as per the directives of the Prime Minister. He gave the directive at a review meeting of the implementation of the September 2012 Annual Development Program (ADP) for the fiscal year 2020-21 of the Information and Communication Technology Department.
The Minister urged the Project Director, Learning and Learning Development Project and all concerned to coordinate the program with the Controller of Certifying Authority (CCA), Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and Mobile Games and Apps Project Authority.
State Minister Junaid Ahmed also said that 5,000 Sheikh Russell Digital Labs would be set up in educational institutions on the basis of the list of MPs. The Department of Information and Communication Technology's Annual Development Program (ADP) Implementation Review Meeting for FY 2020-21 was held today on the online platform. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed joined the meeting online as president.
The meeting was attended by NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Bangladesh Computer Council, Department of Information and Communication Technology, heads of various organizations under the department and various project managers.
The meeting discussed in detail about setting up another 5,000 Sheikh Russell Digital Labs in the country on the basis of the list of MPs. It was also informed that the lab will be set up considering the population of the area and the previous qualifications of the educational institutions.
The meeting discussed the implementation plan of the projects adopted in the current financial year, especially A2I program, National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Development-Info Sarkar-3 project, Mobile Game and Application Skills Development Project, Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Project, Learning and Learning Development Project, Innovation and Udyog. The financial and practical progress of all the other projects including the academy establishment project was discussed in detail.
According to the IT department, the heads of the companies and the project managers presented the implementation plans of their respective projects and the latest progress at the meeting. At this time, the state minister gave necessary instructions to the project managers to complete the work of the project on time while maintaining the quality as per the work plan.
In the current (2020-21) financial year, ADP has allocated Tk 1,414.69 crore for a total of 25 projects under the ICT department.
